Love =D

Original Paragraph:
The one person I can never seem to forget is my ex-boyfriend, Jonathon. He was a little bit of everything, but most of all he was charming. Even the smell of his aroma was intoxicating. He would sit down and talk to you and you would hear the words, but you would find yourself staring into his enchanting eyes. If you were feeling sad, his hilarious yet weird sense of humor would make you smile. All of these things are what I considered the best and most wonderful qualities in a guy. If I ever find a guy as charming as him again, I'll be sure to hold on to that one. - Ashley Short

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My boyfriend's name is Brandon McManus. He is a big dork, but he is the best hugger in the world. When we are together, he makes me feel like I'm the most important thing in his life. Though I don't get to see him much, he comes here whenever he can and we have lots of fun together. When we ride together in his car, I look over and find him smiling at me. This is the most wonderful feeling in the world, knowing someone loves you. =D
Descriptive-snakes
Original Paragraph:
Towering trees surround the sides of my tree fort. Forest sounds sing me to sleep when I stay the night in my favorite place. Occasionally, when the moon is out, I hear the movement of animals in the brush. In a flash I'm awake and sitting up. When the noise ceases, I can sleep again. The only time I can't go back to sleep is when the coyotes laugh at me from the hills behind our property. Laughing coyotes can make any kid's mind play tricks.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hundreds of snakes closing in on me. Snakes are my worst fear, besides heights. They are my worst nightmare, and the most prominent one I have. They remind me of the devil; every time I see one that is what I think of. I always wake up sweating in the middle of the night after dreaming of numerous snakes.

Benjamin Franklin~The Autobiography

Original Paragraph:
Dear Son,
I have ever had a pleasure in obtaining any little anecdotes of my ancestors. You may remember the enquiries I made among the remains of my relations when you were with me in England and the journey I undertook for that purpose. Imagining it may be equally agreeable to you to know the circumstances of my life-many of which you are yet unaquainted with-and expecting a week's uninterrupted leisure in my
present country retiremment, I sit down to write them for you. Besides, there are some other inducements that excite me to this undertaking. From the poverty and obscurity in which I was born and in which I passed my earlier years, I have raised myself to a state of affluence and some degree of celebrity in the world.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dear Mom,
I have been your daughter for 16 years and 4 months. You may remember the times when I used to be cute and it seemed I appreciated you alot more, but that isn't true. These are the years when I need you the most; to teach me things and give me support when life gets confusing. Despite what you may think, I really love a hug from you once in a while. I know you are stressed about the day when you and Dad have to give me away, but trust me, I will ask you to pray with me and I will know he is the right one. I love you mom.
The Scarlet Letter, Nathaniel Hawthorne
Original Paragraph:
Let men tremble to win the hand of woman, unless they win along with it the utmost passion of her heart! Else it may be their miserable fortune, as it was Roger Chillingworth's, when some mightier touch than their own may have awakened all her sensibilities, to be reproached even for the calm content, the marble image of happiness, which they will have imposed upon her as the warm reality. But Hester ought long ago to have done with this injustice. What did it betoken? Had seven long years, under the torture of the scarlet letter, inflicted so much of misery, and wrought no repentance?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think this piece is basically saying that a man can't have the love of a woman without the passion. They have to be attracted to one another and want to spend their lives together. It is also saying that if a man neglects his wife then the wife may seek a refuge in another man, who will actually love her. It's saying that even though Roger Chillingworth was bad to Hester, it was partly her fault too. He asks the question, "was love worth all these years of torture?".
