Ambulance Article, The Register Guard

Original Paragraph:
It's been nine months since the incident and Leslie Comar is still seething. "Despicable," she says of a $1,630 bill she received from the city of Eugene's Fire & Emergency Medical Services Department for a 1 1/2-mile transport by ambulance of her 21-year-old son last December.
Zack Comar, a University of Oregon senior who's an insulin-dependent diabetic, was attending the Civil War football game Dec. 3 at Autzen Stadium when he started to feel ill. Eugene EMS personnel transported him to Sacred Heart Medical Center, University District, from which he was soon released.
"Imagine my shock when I received the bill," says Leslie Comar. "It's ridiculous."

Bob Welch's subject for his article is obviously the outrageous price of ambulance rides at the present time. His purpose is to educate, if not warn the public about the issue of the price of ambulance rides. His audience is the public eye who reads the newspaper everyday, therefore it is written formally, for anyone to read. He puts the mother's opinion across very strongly in this article. This article must have been classified as very important, because it was on the very front page of the Register Guard. Either that, or they had nothing else interesting to write.

The newspaper is a great source to use. I noticed this article, too. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
